Tourism is a major contributor to economic growth and development, and understanding tourist motivation and satisfaction is essential for developing effective tourism management strategies. Cave tourism, which refers to the exploration and visitation of caves, has become a popular activity among tourists worldwide. Tourists are drawn to caves for various reasons, including the opportunity to engage in sociable activities, experience adventure, and participate in scientific research. Cave tourism provides a unique and fascinating opportunity for visitors to explore the natural world, learn about its history and ecological systems, engage in sociable and adventurous activities, and contribute to the growth of the tourism industry. This study aims to investigate tourist motivation and satisfaction at Igcabugao Cave, a potentially marketable tourist attraction located at Igcabugao, Igbaras, Iloilo. The respondents of this study were the CHM Tourism students from Central Philippine University batch 2021-2022 who have visited Igcabugao Cave. The data were collected through an online survey consisting of three parts: (1) demographic profile, (2) tourist motivation, and (3) tourist satisfaction. This study employs various statistical tools, including frequency, percentage, T-test, P-value, mean, and average, to determine the significant difference. Tourist motivation was identified using the push-pull factor while tourist satisfaction rating was based on the TOURQUAL method, including accessibility, environment, human element, experience, safety and security, and technical quality. The results suggest that tourists are generally motivated to visit Igcabugao Cave for reasons such as expanding their knowledge of cave tourism, engaging in a new kind of journey and experience, and spending quality time with loved ones. Additionally, tourists seek to escape from the city or busy life, reduce stress, and experience new adventures. The study also identifies factors that impact tourists' likelihood of revisiting the cave, including hospitality, cost, surroundings, weather conditions, and accessibility. Overall, tourists were found to be highly satisfied with their experience at Igcabugao Cave. However, accessibility issues were identified as a potential area for improvement. While overall satisfaction levels were high, addressing these challenges can promote tourism at the site and increase the likelihood of tourists revisiting the destination. This study highlights the importance of understanding tourist motivation and satisfaction for developing effective tourism management strategies. By identifying the factors that attract tourists to a particular destination or attraction and addressing any challenges that may affect their experience, the management of Barangay Igcabugao can promote tourism growth and enhance tourist satisfaction, thereby contributing to the economic development of the region.
