Аннотации
This research aimed to preserve and promote cultural heritage by developing an instructional video for teaching Mazurka Boholana, a Spanish-influenced Philippine folk dance, to Grade 12 students. The Mazurka Boholana is significant in Philippine cultural history, blending indigenous and colonial influences. However, its complexity and lack of accessible instructional materials challenge its transmission to younger generations. The study's objectives were to: describe the Mazurka Boholana’s origin, development, dance steps, and count pattern; detail the appropriate costume, music, and intricacies; design and develop an instructional video; and evaluate the video. Using the Input-Process- Output (IPO) model, the study began with analyzing the needs of PE teachers and students through key informant interviews. The process included outlining learning content, developing the instructional video with expert guidance, and evaluating it using a rubric by professionals in PE, choreography, and folk dance. The final output focused on creating and refining the instructional video. Employing a developmental research design, the study systematically created the video. Findings highlighted the importance of understanding the dance’s origin, steps, and cultural context to enhance cultural appreciation and preserve artistic traditions. Additionally, detailed knowledge of costume, music, and dance intricacies was deemed necessary for mastering Mazurka Boholana. The instructional video provided an innovative educational tool that enhanced visual learning, cultural awareness, and artistic creativity. The evaluation process ensured the video's clarity, engagement, and authenticity. Data were collected through surveys and focus group discussions. The main output is a developed instructional video for Mazurka Boholana, (designed for what and to whom?)
