Abstract
This study aimed to measure the levels of impostor phenomenon and perfectionism among students in the College of Arts and Sciences students in Higher Educational Institution (HEI) and examine the relationship between the two variables. A descriptive-correlational design was used, and data was collected using the Clance Impostor Scale and Hewitt-Flett Multidimensional Scale. The sample consisted of three hundred fourteen respondents, and data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results revealed that the students from the College of Arts and Sciences in an HEI have "frequent" feelings of impostor phenomenon and have “neutral” levels of perfectionism. Finally, the correlation test revealed a significant relationship between the level of impostor phenomenon and the level of perfectionism ( r=.0.295, Sig= 0.000). Therefore, the null hypothesis was rejected. The academe, the guidance counselors as well and the teachers are recommended to provide and promote support to students such as therapy programs, academic coaching programs, and peer support groups as well as establish a more supportive learning environment that is conducive to academic success and personal growth.
