Proposed design for special program in the arts: Dance and music building for Tapaz Central Elementary School in Tapaz, Capiz

Abstract

Tapaz Central Elementary School (TCES) has sought to construct its own building and facilities to ensure that the quality of education is maintained. The project's objective is to design a two-story facility that includes both a performing hall and a classroom for the Tapaz Central Elementary School's Special Program in the Arts: Dance and Music. The project will include an enclosed function hall for dance and music demonstrations to prevent loitering during courses and a classroom to cater to students during art instruction. Noise Dampening curtains, LED lights, sound systems and air conditioning units are special features of the structure to provide comfort to its guests and performers. The structural design was made in line with the architectural design and load specifications. It was based on the Philippine National Structural Code (NSCP) 2015, as well as DepEd Specifications, and Codes imposed by law. The estimated cost of the proposed structure is Php 2,508,948.05. The proposed structure construction has a duration of 240 calendar days and the cost and estimates were based on the cost per unit prices. DepEd has set a budget for the Special Program in the Arts for district schools. According to the School Administration, a portion of the budget will also come from donations, such as those from the school's alumni and the Municipal Government, if permitted.
