Аннотации
This study identified the portrayal of roles of women, the different periods of the characters, Jane Eyre that contributed to her being a woman, and the significant contribution of Charlotte Bronte’s novel, Jane Eyre in emancipating women’s roles in society. The book that was used in analyzing the women was Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre. Content analysis using the feminist approach was used to determine the portrayals of roles of women character in the novel. Coding sheets were used in identifying the portrayal of women’s role. Findings show the women’s role mostly seen was in line with housekeeping while in the five (5) periods of Jane’s life, significantly contribute in her development as a woman. Moreover, women were perceived differently by looking into roles that will help the people understand their plight, that of making others aware of the roles contributed by women in society.
