Abstract
The researcher’s study entitled, a presentation of regional news segments in TV Patrol and 24 Oras focuses on television broadcast specifically on news programs. The study deals with the appearance of regional news segments, type of news beats presented as well as the significance of its appearance to the respondents of Sitio Bulang, Brgy. Oracon, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras using descriptive research design specifically survey and content analysis as a research method. Results of the study were drawn in relation with the theoretical and conceptual framework and related literatures utilized in the study. By evaluation, its findings were explained, based on the objectives posted. Here, TV Patrol manifested a big percentage on the presentation of crime related news and 24 Oras presenting more on human interest stories followed by other types of news beats. Also, the respondents show interest and satisfaction in the inclusion of regional news segments in the national news. Hence, recommendation such as balance presentation of regional and national news segments as well as variation on the type of regional news beats to be presented in the case of the results given by the respondents were emphasized on the study.
