Nurses have integral involvement in the system of health care. Newly registered nurses are confronted with challenges that modify a successful transition into practice of clinical nursing. In spite of the fact that there are a number of divergent and counter divergent exchanged views by authorities through the media, no documented research study has been done to understand the lived experiences of nurse trainees in the country. In this study, the participants were chosen purposively and saturation principles were applied in data collection which used in- depth interview. All interviews were audio- taped, ranscbed and translated into English by the researcher. Data were analyzed using Collaizi's descriptive phenomelogy strategy. Through the interview, four major themes emerged describing the lived experiences of newly registered nurses as job trainees. These were, (1) Knowing the Purpose; (2) Seeking fulfillment; (3) Coping Mechanisms against Challenges; and, (4) Professional Growth and Maturity. Overall, the themes that emerged from the findings were like pieces of puzzle that summed up the newly registered nurses lived experiences as nurse trainees. This essence of the phenomenon integrated the identified major themes and subthemes of the study. These experiences represent only those who have experienced such phenomenon and cannot be generalized to all newly registered nurses' experiences as job trainees. The findings of this study would add to the foundational knowledge of this nursing phenomena which is of high importance and beneficial for newly registered nurses, registered staff nurses, nurse managers and administrators, and future researchers.
