Résumé
This study was primarily conducted in order to determine the usual problems encountered in marriages and the acceptability of divorce among married professors in CPU, College of Law. Specifically, this study tried to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of sex and religion, the problems encountered in marriage, the acceptability of and the valid grounds for divorce among the respondents. This descriptive study involved 13 respondents who were selected using the purposive convenience sampling method. Data gathering instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire. Analysis of data involved the use of descriptive statistical tool with the help of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) Software Program for Windows. Results revealed that, as an entire group, problems encountered was low. Findings also showed that the respondents had moderate problems arising from financial difficulties, low communication and employment problems and low problems with their children an in-laws. They also had low other problems. They had the lowest problem with religion. The results also revealed that majority of the respondents were not sure about the acceptability of divorce. Almost one fourth were out right against its implementation while two respondents were in favor of the Divorce Bill to be implemented.
