Abstract

Guimaras Island Tourism Portal is a home page designed to facilitate business communications and transactions for prospective and frequent clients of Guimaras island resorts. The home page system is equipped with features for information on amenities, and accommodation rates of each and every resort in Guimaras island. Its log-in or register module enables the travelers/guest to sign-up and log-in to view each of the resort or tourist spots home page and other information for booking reservation. This eases the burden of finding the best place that suits the clients’ need and their budget since the system provides resort modules which list down all the available resorts and necessary information for booking and reservation. In addition, it provides updates on annual activities and festivals with complete information provided. The map modules provides the geographical diagram that shows all the ports of Guimaras including the “how to get there” information. Festivals, activities, and some additional information are available in the highlighted modules. The contact us module provides the contact information of the websites system administrator to verify the existence of a resort featured in the home page. This project study aimed to help strengthen Guimaras economy through tourism and investment through its vision which is to provide strategy direction leadership and action to promote cooperative development and job creation initiatives and projects in order to support the provinces poverty reduction goals.
