Abstract
Iloilo Provincial Capitol (IPC) has a growing number of employees and meets some difficulties because of manual processing. On this account, the researchers introduce the Electronic Payroll System using barcodes. Researchers come up to that kind of system because barcode system have been proven to save time, operate accurately, increase productivity and eliminate the endless trailing paper work. This system can be a great help to the development of the province, in meeting its goal as well as the employees' convenience.

The processing of payroll will be improved because less time will be spent on paperwork. In fact it will speed up the process of data entry, data collection, retrieval and diminish the lengthy reports generate by conventional system.

Payroll processing must be accurate since it deals with money. Barcoding can secure the accuracy in computation and will easily assist the auditors in tracing where the money went and other problems that may arise.

Finally, it will increase the efficiency in generating an up-to-date report on a timely basis.

The purpose of this study is to develop an efficient and effective payroll system to the Iloilo Provincial Capitol. It is possible through proposed Electronic Payroll system because this will use barcoding in payroll processing. Barcoding assures the system to be accurate with less time consumed in the processing. This system is unique in its process for this will start from the log in and out of the employee and will directly process their payroll weekly and also at the end of the month. Certainly, this will end-up the trailing paper work of the office since there is no need of daily time record and other records that are used as its input.
