Résumé
Book Latte Management Information System can be a big help to lessen the task of the staff of Book Latte Library, Lounge & Cafe and to have a reliable management information system. It is focused on the designed features that will meet the requirements of an effective and manageable kind of service to customers and will monitor the day-to-day transactions of the business. It also aims to give a user-friendly interface so that it will be more productive and convenient for the users to access the system. The system can minimize the information overload and it can change the larger amount of data into summarized form and thereby avoid confusion which may arise when employees are flooded with detailed facts.

The system’s front end was developed through Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, while its back end was MySQL Server. Windows 7 was used as the main operating system during the development until implementation.

The researchers hereby conclude clearly, that the Book Latte can accomplish its main objective that will integrate sales and inventory of products, borrowing of books and application for membership prior to the approval of the Book Latte Management.

By using work efficiency as a factor, the proposed system will improve the current system of sales and inventory, borrowing of books and membership transactions. It will have the superiority in terms of general productivity of the establishments. The benefits cannot be converted into an explicit amount, but still can produce a considerable degree of compensation.

The system is made up of subsystem modules which meet the requirements and specific objectives. This system provides a computerized sales and inventory, borrowing and membership for Book Latte that will integrate multiple business process into one suite of application. The sales and inventory provides the overall transactions of food purchases and food sales. The borrowing module provides an automatic update of book inventory, borrowing and returning of book and payment transaction. The membership module provides the members personal information and automatically monitors the total number of members currently in the cafe. The system also provides a catering reservation that stores and monitors reservations either for walk in customers or part of the members. Records all the details for better functionality of the catering services.
