Profiling and monitoring system for the National Nutrition Council Region VI

Abstract

This thesis study is focused on the development of a Profiling, Monitoring and Data Mining for the National Nutrition Council Region VI. It is aimed to monitor the data of every committee and consolidate data gathered by the (Barangay Nutrition Scholar) BNS. With the use of the system, the Regional committee is able to monitor (Operation Timbang) OPT results of Cities and Municipalities of Provinces and the data submitted will be stored and maintained in by the Regional level. The system from the Regional level generates three different reports; a Regional summary report on OPT, Regional consolidation sheet on OPT, and Regional coverage of OPT. The system is able to identify OPT results from the Provincial and Municipality level. The results of this study benefits the National Nutrition Council (NNC) in ensuring effective data gathering, processing, identifying, monitoring and forecasting results based on prior information. While the profiling assists the NNC to monitor the nutrition workers of every level. The data mining allows the Regional committee to analyze data from many different dimensions or angles, categorize it, and summarize the relationships identified. It enables the Regional committee to determine relationships among "internal" factors such as nutrition status of the children, and "external" factors such as education status and employment status of the parents. The researchers followed the Rational Unified Software Development Process in developing a software system that was able to meet the objectives that were set at the beginning of this study.
