The study was conducted from May 8 to 17, 2018 at CPU-CARES Research and Development Learning Center, Jaro, Iloilo City. The objective of the study was to compare the effect of LD50 supernatant and infranatant extract of Asiatic bitter yam (Dioscorea hispida) capsule on Philippine native chickens. Specifically, this study aims to establish the LD50 and determine the signs and symptoms of Asiatic bitter yam plant over dosage. The treatments were composed of the infranatant and supernatant of Asiatic bitter yam extract powder which each capsule has a base dose of 500 mg of homogenously mixed Asiatic bitter yam extract capsule. Each set of test was given 500, 1000 and 2000 mg of homogenously mixed Asiatic bitter yam extract capsules for both treatments. Any changes were recorded through photos or videos and were noted upon administering. Based on the observation of the three sets of chickens the different dosages of infranatant and supernatant ABYE capsules does not show a signs and symptoms of toxicity on Philippine native chicken. Based on the results, the three dosages of infranatant and supernatant ABYE capsules have no observed toxicity to Philippine native chicken.
