Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of implementation of RA 10175 otherwise known as Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. This study examined the secondary data obtained from the cyber crime cases reported in Iloilo with the Philippine National Police and in the National Bureau of Investigation Region VI, Iloilo City. This descriptive research design was used in this study. The respondents were the victims of the different kinds of cybercrime offenses punishable under RA 10175 in Iloilo. The gathered secondary data were presented, analyzed and interpreted to determine the extent of implementation of RA 10175. The statistical tools used in this study were mean, frequency count and percentage distribution. The results of the study showed that majority of the victim respondents were of legal age, female, single, Catholic, college graduate or in college level, Filipino and residents of Iloilo City. Most of the victims suffered from content-related offenses such as libel, cybersex and unsolicited commercial transactions, committed through Facebook/ Instagram/ Twitter. It further provides that ail cyber crime cases were still on-going investigation either on the PNP or under the NBI.
