<description>A model analysis of the worthiness of public transport services to Guimaras Island as assessed by tourists: Inputs to the enhancement of a tourism development plan
Burgos, Jonan P.
The study was a model analysis of the worthiness of public transport services to Guimaras Island as assessed by tourists travelers. A non-experimental predictive research design using linear regression was used. A total sample size of 389 respondents participated in the study. A continuous Likert scale was used to measure the tourists’ assessment of the worthiness of public transport services to Guimaras Island and to enable probability testing on data. Results pointed out that young to middle-age tourists (18-35 years old) have higher assessment of the worthiness of transport services as compared to older tourists (56 years old and above) especially in terms of convenience, reliability, and availability of public transportation. Light users (once a year) as compared to heavy users (once a week) of transport services have higher assessment of the worthiness of the transport services especially in terms of safety, convenience and reliability, while professionals/employees have higher assessment of safety, reliability, convenience, and value for money as compared to housewife and students. These demographic (age, occupation) and psychographic (usage) variables are worth considering in revisiting the quality of transport services being provided to the tourists, especially in terms of cleanliness, availability of seats while waiting and accessibility, punctuality and service frequency of transport service, ticket availability and fare promotion and discounts, lower fare, advanced booking/online payment systems to deliver better travel experience to the Island of Guimaras.

<title>School-based feeding program in the Province of Iloilo: A model analysis</title>
<link>https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12852/3198</link>
<description>School-based feeding program in the Province of Iloilo: A model analysis
Castigador, Dimpna C.
This study intended to assess the status of the ETCFP, determine its performance, identify areas for improvement, and recommend measures to be taken to enhance the program implementation. Descriptive correlational research design was adopted. Data gathering was conducted for a total of 436 learners from the selected public schools in the province of Iloilo where Project ETC operated a feeding program. The stratified random sampling method was used to ensure proportionate representation. The frequency count, percentage, and mean were employed for descriptive statistics. The t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Pearson's r were used for inferential statistics at .05 level of significance. Before and after FP, most of the learners had normal NS. However, there was a decline in the percentage of N. On the other hand, there was a slight reduction in the percentage SW. The target of DepEd to rehabilitate 70% of the SW to N was not achieved. Meantime, there was a slight increase in the percentage of Ov learners. There was a regress of N learners to SW within Y1. Accordingly, there was an increase in the percentage of SW and W. However, for Y2, there was an increase in the percentage of N and Ov and a corresponding decrease in SW and W. Only one school was able to submit the data on grades. Even before FP, the grades of the N learners were already higher than those of W learners (82.48 against 78.33). The same was true after FP (82.44 against 78.00). However, there was a decrease in the grades of both learners. The SW and W received meals from DepEd (consistent with DepEd DO 39 s. 2017) and Project ETC; other learners received one meal each. Correlation tests showed that the increase in the feeding frequency will enhance the NS of the learner. The model showed that sex and frequency of feeding were the predictors of the change in NS of the learners. However, for sex, this contribution was not statistically significant. Most of the learners have normal NS but this NS needs to be sustained to achieve the DepEd targets on nutritional status particularly the need to reduce the SW and prevent the regress of N to W or SW. The increase of Ov learners needs to be also addressed. Comparing the NS within the SY, there is an improvement in NS in Y2, however, it needs to be sustained. The grades of N learners are consistently higher than those of W learners. However, the good grades of N learners need to be sustained. If the NS of the learner has to be improved, the key is to increase the feeding frequency.

<title>Correlates of financial difficulty among public school teachers in the Province of Iloilo: Basis for the development of a financial education program</title>
<link>https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12852/3188</link>
<description>Correlates of financial difficulty among public school teachers in the Province of Iloilo: Basis for the development of a financial education program
Moscoso, Darnelle P.
This study aimed to determine the correlates of financial difficulty among public school teachers in the Province of Iloilo as the basis for the development of a Financial Education Program. It used a descriptive-correlational design with a total 833 public school teacher-respondents from the 20, 725 total population. Convenience sampling was used to determine the sample with frequency count and percentage employed for descriptive statistics while mean, standard deviation, Mann Whitney, and Kruskal Wallis were used for inferential statistics, all set at .05 level of significance. Results revealed that respondents generally demonstrated “satisfactory" financial literacy, indicating basic but not entirely satisfactory financial knowledge. They could make basic financial decisions like saving money and managing expenses but might still experience financial difficulty due to limited awareness of effective financial management. Financial difficulty in terms of personal and political factors were pervasive. Financial difficulty differed in terms of civil status, financial attitude, literacy, types and purpose of loan, and sources of loan from both government and the private of the respondents. Lastly, salary grades and financial attitude were found to correlate with the financial difficulty of the respondents. With all of this findings, a Financial Education Program entitled, “Empowering the Educators”, is proposed which mainly involves the establishment of a division Based organization that would heed the financial difficulties faced by respondents in terms of debt and loan management and other avenues for income generating ventures. It would primarily facilitate localized financial management modules, seminars, workshop, peer support groups and revenue generating projects - all within a single structured organization.

<title>Debt financing and enterprise growth in the steel industry in China</title>
<link>https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12852/3082</link>
<description>Debt financing and enterprise growth in the steel industry in China
Jing, Nie; Libo-on, Rowena M.
This study, which aimed to determine the debt financing and enterprise growth in steel industry in China since its listing until 2020, utilized the descriptive-correlational research design. The respondents in the study were 437 listed steel trading enterprises and their core enterprises in the supply chain, including 47 upstream enterprises (steel mills), 30 steel trading enterprises and 364 downstream end customer enterprises. The frequency count and percentage were employed for descriptive statistics. Pearson's r and regression were used for inferential statistics, all set at .05 level of significance. The results revealed that the debt financing of China's steel industry is at a low level in terms of both debt financing level and maturity. Generally, debt financing has a negative correlation with the growth of China's steel enterprises, while the relationship between General Debt Ratio (GDR) and development capacity is not significant. Short-term debt ratio (SDR) has a positive correlation with the operational capacity of enterprise growth, while it has a negative correlation with other aspects of enterprise growth. Long-term debt ratio (LDR) is positively correlated with the development ability of enterprise growth, while it is negatively correlated with other aspects of enterprise growth. This implies that the debt financing of China's steel industry is at a low level, and is negatively related to the growth of enterprises. When the debt financing is low, the growth of steel enterprises is positive.
