<description>A journey within: The menopausal experience of female nurses
Sampiano, Ma. Lourdes N.; Gilongos, Annalie D.; Giron, Lena O.; Suerte, Norma S.
This study attempted to answer the following questions: 1.) What does it mean to experience menopause among female nurses and, 2.) What are the essences of this experience in nurses? A qualitative study employing a phenomenological approach was used to examine and understand the experiences of these menopausal nurses. In depth face to face interview was utilized as the primary data collection method. The participants were purposely chosen, and saturation point were reached after validation of female nurses who experienced menopause. Data were analyzed using Hycner’s 14 Steps of Descriptive Phenomenological Strategy to classify and identify patterns in the data. The themes include Enervating Physical Effects of Menopause, Unpredicted Emotional Symptoms, Role Expectations Amidst Menopause, and Evolving Coping Strategies. Subthemes addressed issues like palpitations, hot flashes, irritability, feelings of inadequacy, emotional sensitivity, domestic and sexual obligations, and expectations from family and workmates. The study also highlighted various coping strategies, including family support, selfreliance, and diversions to alleviate stress. The identified themes highlighted the complex interplay of biological, cultural, and social factors influencing their lives during menopause.

<title>Public hospital financial performance and salary incentive mechanism: An exploratory sequential mixed method design</title>

<description>Public hospital financial performance and salary incentive mechanism: An exploratory sequential mixed method design
Yingqian, Lao; Gumban, Gynnyn G.
This study analyzed the relationship between financial performance and salary incentive mechanisms in public hospitals across 30 provinces in China from 2014 to 2018 using an explanatory sequential mixed methods approach. Quantitative research revealed significant changes in medical revenue, net income, and drug cost proportions based on hospital factors such as patient volume, operation rates, and length of stay. These factors also had a major impact on wage components, such as post-salary, scale-salary, and performance subsidies. Qualitative data validated the findings, demonstrating that present incentive structures favor hospitals with high patient traffic and surgery rates, while others confront financial and operational issues. The study emphasizes that in order to increase hospital efficiency and employee happiness, incentive structures must be smart and well-balanced.

<description>The moderating roles of financing, return, and attention effects of digital economy index and green financing development among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
Dan, Li; De La Peña, Renia F.
This study aimed to explore the relationship between the digital economy and green financing among small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in China and to examine the moderating roles of financing, return, and attention effects on this relationship. Utilizing a quantitative research design and secondary research method, data were collected from green SMEs listed on the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) and National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ) from 2018 to 2022. Principal component analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were conducted to examine the relationship between the digital economy index and green financing development. Additionally, moderating effect models were established to assess the roles of financing, return, and attention effects. The findings revealed consistent growth in the digital economy index with the mean rising from 0.457 in 2018 to 0.510 in 2022. The green financing development level indicator increased by 0.07 in 2019 compared to 2018, but slightly declined in 2020. It began to gradually recover from 2021, reaching its highest mean value of 0.599 in 2022. The financing effect eased SME financing constraints, the return effect reduced financial asset return disparities, and the attention effect increased public and investor interest in green SMEs. The study concludes that digital economy significantly promote green financing among SMEs. Although financing constraints and return disparities weakened this relationship, public and investor attention enhanced it.

<title>The role of tariffs and exchange rates on ASEAN trade facilitation indices and China's cross-border e-commerce export scale</title>
<link>https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12852/3493</link>
<description>The role of tariffs and exchange rates on ASEAN trade facilitation indices and China's cross-border e-commerce export scale
Yun, Yang; Penetrante, Mary O' T.
The objective of this study is to explore how tariff policies and exchange rate fluctuations affect the level of trade facilitation in ASEAN countries and impact the export scale of China's cross-border e-commerce (CBEC). Based on the development model of CBEC, a trade facilitation assessment framework was developed that includes four core dimensions and fourteen refined indicators. Principal Component Analysis was used to quantitatively evaluate and compare the degree of trade facilitation among ASEAN countries. To verify the moderating effect of tariffs and exchange rates, a regression analysis was used based on the gravity model for empirical exploration, setting tariff levels and exchange rates as key moderating variables. Findings show that the trade facilitation index of ASEAN countries has a significant positive effect on China's CBEC exports and is a key factor in predicting the size of CBEC exports. However, the increase in tariffs and unfavorable fluctuations in exchange rates weaken the positive relationship between trade facilitation indicators and CBEC exports. To promote sustained growth of export trade among ASEAN countries and China, priority on improving trade facilitation is crucial and to regularly monitor the changes in tariffs and exchange rates to ensure appropriate strategies are formulated to mitigate their adverse effects.
