<summary type="text">Attendance in Family Development Sessions (FDS) and levels of well-being of 4P’s beneficiaries in Silay City, Negros Occidental
Gealon, Ann Ruth G.
This descriptive-correlational study was conducted to determine the attendance in Family Development Sessions (FDS) and levels of well-being of 4P’s beneficiaries in Silay City, Negros Occidental.  The study was limited to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s) beneficiaries of the three (3) Barangays of Silay City, in the upland, midland and coastal area.  The study covered their attendance in Family Development Session (FDS) and their levels of well-being. The midland area had 70 respondents; the coastal area had 127 respondents; and the upland area had 39 respondents. A total of 236 clients who were all under the supervision of the researcher’s department served as respondents of the study.  The descriptive statistics such as frequency and percentage distribution and mean, wherever appropriate, were employed, to describe the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s) beneficiaries in terms of their personal characteristics and household characteristics; their attendance in FDS; and level of well-being.   Chi- square test was used to determine whether or not there are significant relationships between the personal characteristics, household characteristics and the attendance of 4P’s beneficiaries in FDS; to determine whether or not there is a significant relationship between the attendance in FDS and the level of well-being of 4P’s beneficiaries, and to determine whether or not there are significant relationships between the levels of well- being and the personal characteristics, household characteristics of 4P’s beneficiaries. &#13;
Results of the study revealed that the 4Ps beneficiaries were residents of coastal areas, 36 to 50 years of age with a mean age of 41.51 years, high school level/graduate, housewives, with a family size of 6 and above, and a family income of PhP 3,000 and below with a mean income of PhP 3,225.92. The 4Ps beneficiaries generally incurred no absences in Family Development Sessions (FDS). The respondents in the study were in the survival level in terms of economic sufficiency but in the self-sufficient level in terms of social adequacy, thus, their overall level of well-being is on the subsistence level. The personal characteristics and household characteristics of the respondents were not significantly related to their attendance in FDS. The location and education of the respondents were significantly related to their level of well-being. Household characteristics such as family size and family income and personal characteristics such as age and occupation were not significantly related to level of well-being. Attendance in Family Development Sessions was not also significantly related to level of well-being.

<summary type="text">Outcomes of restorative justice program at the Iloilo Province Parole and Probation Office No. 2
Cabusbusan, Janine A.
The Volunteer Probation Aide (VPA) Program is a strategy by which the Parole and Probation Administration may be able to generate maximum citizen participation or community involvement. Citizens of good standing in the community may volunteer to assist the probation and parole officers in the supervision of a number of probationers, parolees and conditional pardonees in their respective communities. Since they reside in the same community as the client, they are able to usher the reformation and rehabilitation of the clients hands-on (Herradura, 2009).&#13;
In short, the Volunteer Probation Aides assist the offenders towards rehabilitation while they are under supervision in their respective communities. In collaboration with the PPO, the VPA helps pave the way for the offender, victim and community to each heal from the harm resulting from the crime done. They can initiate a circle of support for clients and victims to prevent further crimes, thereby acting as participants in nation building.&#13;
The outcomes of restorative justice interventions appear interesting in view of its major function of restoring the losses suffered by the victims of crimes, holding offenders accountable for the harm they have caused, and building peace within communities.&#13;
It is within the purview of this shift in paradigm in addressing the effects of crime that this study was conducted.&#13;
Statement of the Problem&#13;
The present study was an attempt to determine and describe the outcomes of the restorative justice program in Iloilo Province Parole and Probation Office No.2. To carry out this objective, three outcome variables were considered. These were: (1) losses suffered by the victims of crimes; (2) offenders’ accountability for the harm caused; and (3) building peace within communities.&#13;
Specifically, the study attempted to find answers to the following questions:&#13;
1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of such variables as age, gender, level of education, length of supervision period, client type, residence and present living arrangement?&#13;
2. What are the outcomes of restorative justice in restoring the losses suffered by the victims?&#13;
3. What are the outcomes of restorative justice in defining offenders’ accountability for the harm caused by the crime?&#13;
4. What are the outcomes of restorative justice in terms of building peace in the community?&#13;
5. Are there significant differences in the restoration of losses suffered by the victims when the respondents are classified according to age, gender, education, length of supervision and client type, residence and present living arrangement?&#13;
6. Are there significant differences in defining offenders’ accountability for the harm caused by the crime when the respondents are classified according to age, gender, education length of supervision and client type, residence and present living arrangement?&#13;
7. Are there significant differences in building peace in the community when respondents are classified according to age, gender, education, length of supervision and client type, residence and present living arrangement?

Silab, Joy M.
This study determined the relationship among factors related to incidence of children in conflict with the law and the frequency of committing offense. Data obtained from the City Social Welfare and Development Office in Victorias City was used as the main source of all necessary information. The data was analyzed using Chi-Square test through the use of SPSS software version 17. The findings revealed that the CICL cases of the study were 14 years old and below, male, in-school and have attained at least Grade 6 and below. They came from families who live in urban community, with income of P4,001 to P 8,000, have 4 siblings and below, employed/self-employed fathers, under-employed/unemployed mothers, fathers with high school level and above educational attainment, with mothers who are elementary graduate and below, married parents with laissez-faire parenting style and with low level of closeness, concern and loyalty to family. They are generally one time offenders. No significant relationships between the CICL’s age, sex, educational attainment and frequency of committing offense were found. There were significant relationships between the CICL’s family background in terms of occupation of mother, educational attainment of parents (both father and mother), type of community and frequency of committing offense. But there were no significant relationships between CICL’s family income, occupation of father, marital status of parents, type of family relationship, parenting style, number of siblings and the frequency of committing offense.

<summary type="text">Socio-demographic profile and the issues and concerns of the LGBTQI community in the Municipality of Estancia, Iloilo
Gildore, Lovie Hanna B.
This paper determined the issues and concerns of LGBTQI community in the Municipality of Estancia, Iloilo. This is a descriptive correlation research study. The issues and concerns of LGBTQI were categorized into seven; education, health, family affairs, religion, politics, employment and partner relationship. Data were collected from 100 respondents using complete enumeration and an interview schedule. SPSS was used in data processing and analysis using frequency and mean for the descriptive analysis and Chi-square test for the inferential analysis. Results revealed that the LGBTQI’s in the Municipality of Estancia were predominantly young gays, living in non-coastal barangays with their parents, Roman Catholics, and given their relatively low level of educational attainment ended up working as laborers at a relatively low monthly income of not more than PHP 5,000. They had moderate extent of issues and concerns on education, health, family affairs, religion, media, political, employment, and partner relationship with health as their major issue and concern. Their extent of education, family affairs, political, and employment issues and concern were not significantly related to their age, barangay, religion, gender, educational attainment, occupation, monthly income and living arrangement. There was significant relationship between their extent of health issues and concern and barangay residence; extent of religious issues and concern and gender; extent of media issues and concern and age; extent of partner relationship issues and concern and gender; and major issue and concern and occupation.
